Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
PDF Tool ("we") respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data when you use our free PDF processing tools.
1. Your uploaded files
When you use any tool (merge, split, compress, or convert PDF ↔ Word), your uploaded file is stored temporarily on our server solely to perform the requested processing. Specifically:
- Your original uploaded file is deleted immediately from our server once processing finishes -- regardless of whether you download the result.
- The result file is kept for a maximum of 2 hours so you have time to download it, after which it is permanently deleted.
- We do not view, share, sell, or otherwise use the content of your files for any purpose other than performing the function you requested.
- We have no way to recover a file after it has been automatically deleted -- please keep your own backup of the original file.
2. Other technical data
We may log basic technical information (IP address, access time, browser type, pages viewed) for security, debugging, and abuse-prevention purposes. Logs are typically retained for a limited period and are not used to identify you personally.
3. Cookies and third-party advertising
This site uses cookies for two main purposes:
- Functional cookies: to remember your language preference across visits.
- Third-party advertising cookies: This site displays ads served through Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DoubleClick DART cookie) to serve ads to users based on their prior visits to this website or other websites on the Internet. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visits to our site and/or other sites.
You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you may visit www.aboutads.info to opt out of many other advertising vendors' cookies, or www.youronlinechoices.eu if you are located in Europe.
If you are visiting from the European Union or United Kingdom, personalized ads are only shown after you have given consent via the consent banner displayed on the site, in line with Google's EU User Consent Policy for publishers in this region.
4. Children's privacy
Our service is not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can address and delete that data.
5. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (for example under the GDPR if you are in Europe), you may have the following rights regarding personal data we may hold about you (beyond files already auto-deleted as described above):
- The right to know what data is held about you.
- The right to request correction of inaccurate data.
- The right to request deletion of personal data.
- The right to object to or restrict processing.
- The right to request a copy of your data (data portability).
Please reach out via our contact page to exercise any of the rights above.
6. Data storage and international transfers
Our processing servers and third-party advertising partners (such as Google) may be located in various countries. By using the service, you consent to your data potentially being processed outside your country of residence, subject to appropriate safeguards under applicable law.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, particularly to comply with changes in law or advertising partner policies. Material changes will be announced on this page along with a new "last updated" date.
